Stationary
Once you have decided on your guest list it is important to think
about the types of stationary you require for your wedding and
preparations. Stationary includes all sorts of things from invitations
and reply cards to orders of service, table place cards and thank
you cards to send to guests after the big day.
Wedding stationary come in all shapes and sizes and can reflect
the theme of your wedding and personalities of the bride and bridegroom.
There are literally thousands of designs to choose from and these
cater for everyone from funny designs to sweet and romantic, to
the more traditional designs.
Stationary
can be brought ready made or you can have it hand made to specification,
and many companies specialist in this so there are an abundance
of choices! You can have stationary that reflects the same themes
throughout or you can have different designs for different types
for example one design for your invitations and a different design
for your thank you notes.
It is important to include useful information for example the
marriage of who to whom, the date and time, and the venue. Obviously
you will need to have different versions dependent on whether
guests are invited to the entire wedding day or to the evening
reception only. The cards are usually sent by the hosts of the
wedding and wording usually reflects this. Click Here

Orders of service are also a great choice of stationary as they
will reflect the theme and ideas of the ceremony. They are also
a great way for the guests to be able to follow the service, what
is happening when, and usually contain the words to any hymns
you may have chosen. You can also personalize these to your requirements
and are nice to have as a keepsake of the ceremony. However you
don't usually have an order of service at a civil ceremony because
there is no religious content such as hymns.
Place Cards are helpful when organising guests at the sit down
reception and help to reduce chaos and confusion as everyone is
allocated a seat. It also helps avoid those
family arguments by not seating people together who may clash,
it may be useful asking the mother of the bride and mother of
the groom for advice when making seating arrangements and allocating
place cards.
Thank you notes are a really nice way of making sure your guests
know your appreciation for them attending your wedding and can
be a great way of saying thanks for gifts.
Whatever stationary you choose it should be something that reflects
the bride and bridegroom and be something that makes a statement
about the couple, as this is the first thing your guests will
see of your wedding preparations.
Weddings-With-Style Tips:
When sending out invitations it is preferable to do this at least
eight weeks before the event, as this gives people enough time
to reply and for things to be organised such as seating plans
and meal requirements.
However it is advisable to send your invitations much more in
advance for example twelve weeks before, if it is a summer or
Christmas wedding, to avoid clashes with guests’ seasonal and
family commitments such as holidays or Christmas parties.
