Smile for the camera!
Wedding photographs are really important as they are a record
of your day, and help to relive those special memories that you
will share. Photographs help to record the atmosphere, mood and
theme of wedding as well as the personalities of the bride, bridegroom
and guests.
The photographs taken will also tell your wedding story from
the informal and behind the scenes shots to the formal posed shots,
making up a complete picture of your day.
It is a good idea to ask the photographer to take behind the
scenes shots such as the bride and bridesmaids getting ready and
the bridegroom with the groomsmen before he gets to the church
as you will be able to look at the pictures afterwards and see
each others expressions and the very
beginning of your partners wedding day that you otherwise wouldn’t
have seen.
Informal shots are also fun and will bring a smile to your faces
when reminiscing, for example that picture of a mischievous bridesmaid
or page boy, or the last shots as singles (you could even have
the photographer take pictures at your hen and stag parties!)
Close up shots are also important for example photographs of
the cake, flowers and other decorations, as they complete your
album and are a record of the themes and individual touches that
made your day.
When booking a photographer choose carefully, and act swiftly
as good photographers are always in popular demand. Think about
meeting the photographer in their studios or ask to see their
most recent wedding portfolios as this will give you a good idea
of the type of pictures they take.
It is a good idea to look at advertisements, in magazines and
on the internet and also to ask for recommendations from friends
and family, as you need a photographer who is professional and
who you can rely on as there are no second chances to take photographs.
Photographer must be able to be approachable and fit in with
your friends and family so that they are put at ease in the pictures
and don’t feel uncomfortable. Therefore it is a good idea to chat
with your photographer and make sure you feel comfortable with
their approach.
Once
you are satisfied with this it is important to discuss finances.
Make a list of the photographs you require and then establish
what is included in fee and get detailed prices of everything
from album choices, sizes of prints and presentation to availability
of reprints. It is also worth asking whether the photographer
has the facilities to manipulate images and correct blemishes
if needed and ask how much extra this will be.
Don’t forget to ask about a deposit and when this will be required.
It is also a good idea to ask how long it will be before your
proofs are available and get all of these answers in writing.
Whoever you choose make sure they can capture the magic and memories
of the day as these photographs will be the visual proofs of the
best day of your lives, and will last forever.

Weddings-With-Style Tips:
When speaking to your photographer you need to ask them whether
they will be the actual photographer who is attending on the day,
and if not you need to make sure you meet with the actual photographer
who will be taking your photographs on the day.
Also make sure you ask whether the photographer is going to be
working exclusively for you on the day or whether they are photographing
more than one wedding as this may affect your decision.
Some photographers belong to recognised professional associations
such as the MPA (Master Photographers Association) and the BIPP
(British Institute of Professional Photographers).
