Mother of The Bride & Ladies Wear
This is an exciting time for the Mother of the Bride, a time
of huge emotional and financial investment and a time where they
can live the dream of their daughter’s big day. Their role will
help to relieve some of the burden from their daughter by taking
on some responsibility within the wedding preparations.
The Mother of the Bride will obviously want to look stunning
for her daughter’s wedding, but she must be careful not to outshine
the bride as it is her day. A range of companies and shops provide
clothes for the mother of the bride and female guests. These places
include retail hire, milliners (hat specialists), dress agencies,
designers and boutiques.
A few general rules need to be followed when choosing outfits
whether a mother of the bridal party or a guest. Both mothers
need to know the colour scheme and all outfits should compliment
each other and not clash.
Hats and head pieces usually take as long to buy as the outfit,
although you will find that some places will sell a range of hats
and matching outfits. Above all it is important to select a style
that suits so ask opinions of those you trust.
If you prefer to wear one outfit for the entire event, to save
hassle then an evening dress with a jacket will save changing
between the daytime and evening reception. In the summer a silk
shawl or bolero can replace the jacket when necessary.
Weddings-With-Style Tips:
Everyone apart from the bride should avoid wearing outfits that
are ivory or white, as the bride should stand out from the rest
as this is her big day.
