Music & Entertainment

Music and Entertainment adds atmosphere, creates ambience, and above all is a fantastic way ofBagpiper expressing the joy and love you share through performance, music, words and laughter.

For the ceremony why not choose your favourite hymns or music and hire the services of a pianist, string quartet, harpist or soprano singer to entertain your guests whilst you sign the register. As you leave the church or civil ceremony why not have a dove release to signify the beginning of your married life together, or a bagpiper or chimneysweep who signifies luck. At the day reception think about hiring a magician to do magic tricks or for that something different hire a clairvoyant for a bit of fun palmistry. If you want a more elegant reception why not ask the string quartet to provide background music, or even make a CD of your favourite songs and ask the venue whether they will play it on their sound system for you.

If you do have younger guests attending the wedding then providing children’s entertainment is a great idea. Often children loose patience and the only way to reduce the fidgeting of bridesmaids and page boys is to arrange entertainment. Some venues do provide crèche services, however if they don’t, it is worth ordering boxes of fun which contain toys for specific ages and keep children occupied for hours. Another idea is to hire a cartoonist, although an additional expense, it will be worth it and mean everyone can sit back and enjoy the wedding.Disco

Why not have an evening reception with a party atmosphere. Take it up a notch or two by hiring a tribute band to play all your favourite songs, or have a mini casino that will entertain the guests for hours. Encourage dancing by choosing bands and DJ’s that provide a music style that appeals to all ages.

If budget allows you could always have a programme of several acts, starting with a jazz band or cabaret singer, followed by a comedian or impersonator, and then ending the evening with a disco to dance away into the night.

For unforgettable memories why not finish your day with a finale of fireworks, making sure that the best day of your lives will go off with a bang!

Before you plan your music and entertainment you do need to check what is allowed and appropriate for the ceremony and venue. For example you are not allowed music with religious content at a civil ceremony, and also some older venues have a mandatory decibel level that has to be adhered to, so its worth keeping in mind when making your plans.

Weddings-With-Style Tips:

It is tradition for the bride and bridegroom to have the first dance. If either of you are nervous about this, consider taking a few private dance lessons just to give you that extra boost of confidence.
